Still and Present

Even the breeze moves too fast

Motion, everything in motion, except me

Still and present, untouched

Silenced by the sudden change of moments

Where life ends, only to begin again with one more breath

Even the sky is too bright

Open, with its abandon

Still and present, untouched

A mere spectacle I stand within its hopefulness

Bringing new days called in by light

Even the waves are too loud

Caressing its lips upon the shore

Still and present, untouched

I watch the love scene over and over

One day it may reach me

All while the forest escapes these things

Silent, enclosed, withdrawn

Still and present, I am touched

No longer a spectacle upon the shore

There is a way within we must go
